A man who went for food at the end of the night out found himself waking up in hospital with two police officers stood at his bedside. Cameron Tunstall had been for a meal and then to several bars and clubs on Friday, May 5.
But his night ended with him being rushed to hospital with two bleeds on the brain. Cameron, 22, said the last thing he could remember was being in a bar with friends.
The next thing he knew, he was waking up in hospital with two police detectives speaking to him. Police were called to Bold Street, Liverpool, just after 4.15am on Saturday after a man was found unconscious on the ground - the man being Cameron.
It is thought that he was assaulted by two men and a woman outside Subway. Speaking about the incident, Cameron said he couldn't recall what happened, but his bank transactions showed that he had bought food from Subway and he was probably heading to a taxi to go home.
Speaking to the Liverpool ECHO, Cameron, from the Wirral, said: "I know [we went to Teddy's] because when I had woken up I had a picture with a friend in a photobooth in there. That's how I figured out we went to Teddy's.
"From what I gathered from my bank transactions, I went to Subway and that's where I read on the ECHO it happened. I woke up, I think, quite early yesterday (Saturday) morning. I don't really know timestamps because when I actually woke up, I was just in a room with two detectives who were speaking to me about what happened."
A 25-year-old woman from London was arrested nearby and taken to a police station for questioning by detectives. Cameron suffered two bleeds on the brain, one going into his brain and the other outside his skull, a broken nose and damage to his eye.
He added: "I have been going through eye steroids and they have been putting that in my eye about four times a day. My sight has improved a lot with it though, it is still a bit blurry when I close my right eye, but it is a lot better and I can keep it open a lot more today (Sunday) than I actually could yesterday. I couldn't open it at all yesterday without it being really painful."

Cameron said this wasn't the first time he has been attacked in the city centre. He said last year a man hit him near Pop World, causing him to fall and bang his head.
He was rushed to hospital and had brain scans to check he had no internal bleeding or a head injury. But the scans revealed something else and were sent to the Walton Centre who confirmed Cameron had a brain tumour.
He told the ECHO: "My friends were shocked about it because this actually happened last year as well in August. Last time it happened it was outside Pop World and I was walking past there to get a taxi again.
"Some man turned round and hit me and I had fallen back and hit my head but that time when I was taken to the Royal (Liverpool Hospital), this was on August 28 last year, they did some scans to make sure there was no internal bleeding or head injury.
"But they ended up having to send the scans over to the Walton Centre and they found a brain tumour on the back of my head. I have kind of come to terms with it now and I obviously don't have the best luck on a night out apparently. I am going to try and not go on them as frequently now, as I am obviously not having the best of luck."
Police have now appealed for anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who saw the offenders running away from the scene, to come forward. They also want to talk to taxi drivers from the nearby Hackney cab rank on Hanover Street, as they could have vital dashcam footage, which could help identify the two men who remain at large.
Drivers can upload dashcam footage to be viewed by police via the following link to the NICE website HERE. Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to DM @MerPolCC or message Merseyside Police Contact Centre on Facebook, quoting reference 0152 of May 6.
