Man wanted by police allegedly involved in Kowen Forest party ambush

A man who was allegedly involved in assaulting and robbing at least 20 people at a bush doof in Kowen Forest is wanted by police.

An ACT Policing spokeswoman said officers allege the man is one of the people who attacked multiple people at the dance party near Sutton Road on September 29.

In images released by police, a man wearing a black beanie and a black Nike jacket appears to be holding a device with the flash light on.

Witnesses told police a group of men were of Pacific Islander appearance and arrived in a silver van, dressed in all black clothing about 2.45am that morning.

They said the group allegedly demanded cash and valuables from people at the gathering.

Police said two party goers were taken to hospital with minor injuries as a result of violence during the incident.

"Following investigations, police believe there were at least 20 victims who were robbed or assaulted during the incident," the spokeswoman said.

"Police believe this man may have information that can assist them with their investigation."

She said police hoped the public would help in identifying the alleged offender pictured in the released images.

People who could identify the man were asked to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000, or on the Crime Stoppers ACT website. They were requested to quote reference number 7862603. Police said information could be provided anonymously.
