Man walked six miles to bring his entire double bed to Glastonbury

It can be hard to go to Glastonbury and retain your creature comforts - but one festival goer has done just that.

Festivals can be an uncomfortable experience for those going, and Glastonbury is no different. Some attending this year have faced hour-long queues for water refills in very warm temperatures.

But Twitter user @Thegrumpyjedi somehow managed to take his own double bed from home to Worthy Farm, albeit with several car journeys and a long walk in sweltering temperatures. Posting a photograph of the fully furnished bed on Twitter, he said: “Five trips from car to campsite, 6 miles walked in the blazing sun, But omg it was worth it!”

The double bed has been placed in the tent, complete with a well-stocked supply of beer, cider and pre-mixed cocktail cans. There was some confusion as to whether it was his actually their bed, but he confirmed it was.

Replying to another user, he said: “It's my bed, if I don't take it home I'm sleeping on the floor!” Others praised the idea of bringing your own bed to Glastonbury.

One person said: “This might possibly be the most outlandish thing I've seen in a tent in Glastonbury. An actual bed. Great work.”

Another added: “Got to hand it to you this is impressive.” A third said: “This person is my hero! Sure, nearly half a day to sort BUT if you're there for nearly a week....absolute legend.”

Glastonbury Festival started on Wednesday and is running to Sunday, June 25. Acts such as Lana Del Rey and Lewis Calpadi will be headlining, while Scousers Jamie Webster and indie band Stone will also be performing.
