Manchester United are set for a busy transfer window as Erik ten Hag tries to strengthen his squad - but the Red Devils haven't been able to get a deal over the line so far.
The Red Devils enjoyed a productive campaign, returning to the top four and claiming silverware, but their issues remain clear. Erik ten Hag has plenty of areas to address in his squad but bringing in a striker who can ease the goal burden on Marcus Rashford is key.
Harry Kane has been heavily linked with his contract at Tottenham winding down, but other alternatives are also being sought. Ten Hag spent more than £200m in his first year and may need similar funds if he is to close the gap on neighbours Manchester City. He is also looking at signing a new centre-back.
Here's the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.
Man Utd eye Disasi move
United are keeping tabs on Monaco defender Axel Disasi as they prepare to lose target Kim Min-jae to Bayern Munich, according to reports.
Min-jae, 26, is closing in on a move to Bayern after they agreed terms with the centre-back. United were interested in the South Korea international as they try and add extra depth to their defensive department.
Ten Hag has now had to look elsewhere for centre-back options. Disasi, who was also linked with a switch to United in January, has emerged as a potential target. The Red Devils have also sent their scouts to follow Jean Clair Todibo multiple times, but a decision has not been made yet.
Disasi impressed at Monaco last season and made 49 appearances in all competitions, scoring four goals.
Ten Hag furious in Rice race
Ten Hag is said to be furious that Manchester United's takeover saga has foiled his plan to sign West Ham skipper Declan Rice.
The Glazers put United up for sale in November, but the situation is yet to be resolved. Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani and INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe, among other parties, are battling to take over the Premier League giants.
There is a concern the saga will not conclude until after the summer transfer window, throwing Ten Hag's plans into doubt. The Glazers will not hand the United boss a huge budget if they are selling up, although there will be some cash for new players.
Rice, 24, is one of the most sought after stars in Europe after captaining West Ham to victory against Fiorentina in the Europa Conference League final earlier this month, ending their 43-year wait for silverware. Arsenal are leading the race for his signature.
According to The Sun, Ten Hag is keen to beat the Gunners in the race to sign Rice. The Englishman is viewed as the perfect man to play alongside Casemiro in the heart of United's midfield, with critics comparing him to the likes of Roy Keane and Steven Gerrard.
Rashford set for new contract
United are set to offer Marcus Rashford a £375,000-a-week contract - replacing David de Gea as the club's top earner.
Rashford, 25, has just completed the finest season of his career to date, scoring 30 goals for United. The England international's superb form helped Erik ten Hag's side finish third in the Premier League, win the Carabao Cup and reach the FA Cup final.
United are keen to tie Rashford, who found the net just five times during the 2021-22 campaign, down to a new long-term contract following his revival under Ten Hag. The forward was born and raised in Manchester, first joining his boyhood club in 2005.
As reported by The Sun, United will offer Rashford £375,000-a-week and De Gea £200,000-a-week. Rashford's existing deal, which expires in a year's time, is thought to be worth £200,000-a-week. The two players would effectively be trading salaries.
