Man Utd transfer round-up: Josko Gvardiol bid 'lodged' as PSG plot Marcus Rashford swoop

Manchester United are still out of serious action, giving Erik ten Hag plenty of time to prepare for the January transfer window.

The Red Devils who aren't involved in the World Cup have been in Spain for a somewhat warm-weather training camp, where United have been defeated by Cadiz and Real Betis in friendly matches. Although Ten Hag has been keen to get back on the grass, he's also been working to improve off the pitch and it appears that a bid has already been submitted to RB Leipzig for centre-back Josko Gvardiol.

With Cristiano Ronaldo out the door, United are looking to recruit a new striker. Atletico Madrid outcast Joao Felix has emerged as a target alongside Benfica hotshot Goncalo Ramos. But they could also be set to lose one of their own forwards, as Marcus Rashford 's future remains undecided, attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain.

Here's a round-up of the latest transfer news from Old Trafford.

Gvardiol bid lodged

Manchester United have reportedly launched a bid in the region of £80million to sign Croatian defender Josko Gvardiol on the back of his World Cup heroics. According to Foot Mercato, the Red Devils are keen on signing the 20-year-old RB Leipzig centre-back, who's helped Croatia reach the semi-finals with a string of outstanding performances.

However, Erik ten Hag will face competition from Manchester City and Chelsea, who've also weighed in with offers. While Chelsea's is said to be in the same ballpark as United's, City have stumped up closer to £100m. Chelsea are long-time admirers of Gvardiol and were keen to sign him in the summer before he put pen to paper on a new contract at Leipzig.

PSG plot Rashford swoop

Paris Saint-Germain are willing to make Marcus Rashford one of the highest-paid players in the world, Mirror Football understands. The French champions are aiming to beat German giants Bayern Munich and Spanish outsiders Real Betis to his signature next summer, when his deal at Old Trafford expires.

PSG are understood to be forming a package that could be worth up to £850,000 a week for the 25-year-old forward, who'll be free to sign a pre-contract agreement from January 1. Ten Hag has made it clear that he wants to keep Rashford in his squad and the Red Devils can trigger a one-year extension should they wish to avoid any winter panic.

Ramos price tag emerges

United have been told pay a whopping £103m to sign Portugal sensation Goncalo Ramos to replace Cristiano Ronaldo. The 21-year-old striker, who plays for Benfica, dislodged Ronaldo in Fernando Santos' final two starting XIs in their World Cup campaign and scored three goals - all of which came in one game.

But despite Ten Hag maintaining interest which stretches back to the summer transfer window, Benfica's president - the legendary Rui Costa - has warned the Dutchman's club off in January. "We have the sole objective of having a winning season, no player will leave – unless it is due to the clause – which at this moment is fundamental for the squad," Costa declared.

"What I can promise our supporters is what I did at the beginning of the year. This is a sporting project, not a financial one. Fortunately, we are not experiencing financial problems and we have no need to sell players."
