Harry Maguire is set to pocket an eye-watering £10m if he quits Manchester United this summer.
The Red Devils’ captain finds himself in a tricky situation at Old Trafford, with his future up in the air. He fell down the pecking order following Erik ten Hag’s arrival at the club.
The Dutchman preferred a centre-back partnership of Raphael Varane and Lisandro Martinez, which limited Maguire to just 16 starts in all competitions - only half of those coming in the Premier League. He has been linked with a move away from United and should he choose to do that, then he could secure a huge fee.
According to MailOnline, the 30-year-old could secure a £10m pay-out should he leave. Maguire is not expected to earn anywhere near the £190k-per-week wages he pockets at United anywhere else.
He is anticipated to only earn around half of that elsewhere which will lead to the Red Devils forking out just to get him off the wage bill. The former Leicester man still has two years left to run on the contract that he signed shortly after his £80m arrival from the King Power Stadium.
Manager Ten Hag has already opened up on Maguire’s position at Old Trafford. He has continually defended his professionalism but suggested that a decision has to be made over his future sooner rather than later.

Speaking to The Times, he said: “Let’s say I’m happy he’s here and when we needed him he did his job. But it’s also a decision he has to make.
“No one would be happy with this situation – he is not as well. He trains always on the best levels, so with 100% effort. So he handles that situation well and he’s in that manner and in his captaincy he’s important for the squad.”
Maguire could make what is his final appearance for the Red Devils this weekend. United take on near neighbours Man City in the FA Cup final at Wembley and will be aiming to halt their pursuit of a treble.
The defender has been linked with a whole host of clubs over the past year. United’s Premier League rivals West Ham were rumoured to be in for him in January and could revive their interest over the next few months.
French giants PSG also emerged as a shock option for Maguire but the French giants are set to sign Milan Skrinian from Inter Milan so are unlikely to want to spend heavily on another central defender.
Since joining from Leicester, Maguire has gone on to make 175 appearances for the Red Devils. In that time, he has scored seven goals.
