Man Utd's £200m botched transfer pursuit changed the course of club for ever as two dream signings rejected

Patrice Evra says Manchester United's refusal to sign Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo pushed Sir Alex Ferguson into retirement.

Ferguson called time on his illustrious career at Old Trafford in 2013 after winning 13 Premier League titles across 27 years at the helm on the red side of Manchester.
