The latest transfer news from the Premier League and around the world
Mount's £112m United deal close
Mason Mount's £60million move to Manchester United is said to be now very close to completion.
The Daily Star report Mount has told Chelsea he wants to join the Old Trafford club, who have offered the midfielder a five-year £200,00-per-week deal.
As such the £112million deal is now on the brink, with the two clubs coming to a compromise over the initial fee due for the England man, the the west Londoners having rejected a £50million offer, instead holding out for closer to £70million.
Mount, who has one year to run on his Stamford Bridge contract, has told the Blues hierarchy that he has no interest in staying in the English capital this summer.
Arsenal 'to throw house' at star
Reports in Spain (via football365) state Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta will "throw the house out the window" for Lazio star Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
The Serbian midfielder, according to Spanish outlet Fichajes, is the "chosen one" for the Gunners and is "arousing the greatest interest in the Premier League transfer market".
How this would tally with Arsenal's deep interest in West Ham United skipper Declan Rice remains unclear. Manchester City have joined the race for the £100million-rated star, with the Hammers knocking back two bids from the north Londoners so far this summer.
The same publication report Arsenal "could go to €50million" to land the international.
Liverpool's double swoop
Spanish outlet Nacional state Liverpool are "ready to pay" €90million to sign Federico Valverde from Real Madrid - while reports in Italy state they are "following" Juventus winger Federico Chiesa.
Jurgen Klopp is readying a €40million offer for the Italian, but the Old Lady won't come to the table for less than €60million, report Gazzetta dello Sport.
The €130million double swoop would certainly help the Reds bridge the gap between themselves and Manchester City, Arsenal and the rest of the top four.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Naby Keita have both left Anfield this summer, meaning the midfielder is looking wafer-thin. Nacional state the arrival of Jude Bellingham at Real Madrid will see movement there this summer and that the Reds are "leading the race" for Valverde.
Valverde, they state, is still keen on remaining in the Spanish capital, however.
Star passes Newcastle medical
Sandro Tonali has passed his Newcastle United ahead of a £60million move to St James' Park.
Magpies sporting director Dan Ashworth was in Milan on Thursday putting the finishing touches on the deal, holding face-to-face discussions with AC Milan representatives.
The 23-year-old then completed a medical in Romania on Friday morning, where the midfielder is currently competing for Italy in the under-21 European Championships.
Tonali has agreed terms on a six-year deal worth £6.8million plus bonuses and will become the record sale for an Italian player.
