Manchester United's takeover saga has entered its seventh month, as fans grow impatient over the club's potential sale.
Another anti-Glazer protest took place ahead of the Red Devils' hard-fought 1-0 win at home to Aston Villa on Sunday, with speculation mounting that the American family may only elect to sell a minority stake in the club. Executive co-chairmen Joel and Avram Glazer are keen to stick around if no one meets their £6billion asking price, and that's perhaps why Sir Jim Ratcliffe has tabled a proposal which would keep the brothers involved, albeit through a shrunken share.
Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, on the other hand, remains steadfast in his desire to complete a 100 per cent, debt-free takeover. Meanwhile, manager Erik ten Hag is attempting to press on with his plans for a huge summer transfer window, but the Dutchman faces a number of potential hurdles in his bid to bring United back to the top of world football - under a new regime or not.
Here's a round-up of the latest news from Old Trafford.
Sheikh Jassim makes £800m pledge
The group led by Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani have pledged an additional $1billion (£800million) in their takeover bid which would solely focus on improving Manchester United's infrastructure. According to London newspaper City AM, the additional £800m is a ring-fenced sum which would improve aspects of the club such as their Carrington training base and Old Trafford.
Whether to renovate the stadium or build a brand new home for United is one of the major topics within the ongoing takeover talks, as Old Trafford is no longer considered one of the finest stadiums in the United Kingdom. Carrington has also been criticised for being years behind compared to the Red Devils' elite-level rivals, as Cristiano Ronaldo imfamously noted before his departure.

Ten Hag faces transfer obstacle
Manchester United's transfer plans could be wrecked by Premier League foes Chelsea after Erik ten Hag identified ex-Blues striker Tammy Abraham as a backup option to Harry Kane. Gazzetta dello Sport claim that United have shortlisted Roma star Abraham as fears grow over how arduous it will be to buy Kane from Tottenham.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is notorious for driving a hard bargain and would demand at least £100million. Ten Hag and co have therefore looked at cheaper alternatives such as Abraham, but Chelsea - who're also in need of a goalscorer - have a clause to re-sign the 25-year-old for £67m this summer, having sold him to Roma in 2021 and been impressed by his development.

Schmeichel opens up on Ratcliffe regime
Kasper Schmeichel has heaped praise on Sir Jim Ratcliffe and INEOS after nearly a full season working under them at their French club, Nice. The former Leicester goalkeeper, 36, believes that Ratcliffe would be a much more visible owner than any of the Glazers and hopes that INEOS will soon emerge as the preferred bidders after a third round of bidding closed last Friday.
As a guest on Monday Night Football, Schmeichel explained: "Jim is a big Manchester United fan and I think that speaks to a lot of fans that he is someone who cares about the club. From my own experience at Nice, he is a man who is present, comes to games, is knowledgeable about football and has a vast knowledge about performance in general."
