There is little time for Manchester United to lick their wounds after falling to a late defeat against Brighton.
Heading into the final minute of stoppage time, it looked as though the two sides would play out a goalless draw for the second straight meeting. Instead, though, the Seagulls took revenge after losing to United in their FA Cup semi-final after a Luke Shaw handball gifted them a penalty.
That isn't the only development around the club both before and after Erik ten Hag's Champions League chasing side made the trip down to the south coast. Here are the latest lines from around Manchester after a frantic Thursday night.
Late pain at Brighton
Man Utd conceded a 99th-minute penalty to lose at Brighton, with Alexis Mac Allister keeping his cool from the spot. The Argentina midfielder stepped up after a handball from Luke Shaw, which was spotted after a VAR check.
The result means United still have work to do to guarantee a top four finish, but can respond instantly when they travel to West Ham on Sunday. They still have a buffer on the teams below, though.
Right up until the final kick of the game, it looked like United would at least escape with a point. However, a lapse in concentration cost them after some earlier missed chances.

Rashford's message
Marcus Rashford is enjoying his best season in front of goal, but his latest comments suggest more trophies would be even more rewarding. The forward is in contract talks, with his current deal expiring in the summer, and has a chance to win a second domestic cup when United face Manchester City in the FA Cup final.

"Individually, yes," was Rashford's verdict when asked by Premier League Productions whether this has been his best season. "But the year when Jose [Mourinho] was here, we won three trophies. For me, it's about the trophies.
"We've got the opportunity to secure Champions League football and the big one is to win another piece of silverware. That's what we're going to try to do. So that's what the aim is now."
Ten Hag makes classy gesture
Before Man Utd kicked off at the Amex Stadium, manager Erik ten Hag tried to build bridges with former United midfielder Paul Ince. The ex-England international was in the Reading dugout when the Royals took on United in the FA Cup, responding after he wasn't invited for a post-match drink by the Dutchman.
Ince was on Sky Sports punditry duty for the game at Brighton, and Ten Hag presented him with a bottle of wine while conducting his pre-match interview duties. "I owe him one," Ten Hag said by way of explanation. "There's not always time for a drink after the game. You are always welcome."
The former Reading boss was grateful for the gesture. "That's so kind of you," he replied. I appreciate it, we'll have to share it. That's very kind of you, we'll share it after we win the cup final."
