Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal suffer Declan Rice blow as West Ham set deadline for talks

West Ham have made it clear that they won't entertain any discussions about Declan Rice's next move until their season is over.

The Hammers accept their prized asset may look to leave this summer with the likes of Manchester United and Arsenal keen on the midfielder. Those at the London Stadium though want focus to remain on their own campaign, which could well go on until early June.

West Ham are closing in on Premier League survival but also have European glory in their sights in the form of the Europa Conference League. The final for the competition is on June 7, which could be an unwelcome delay for potential suitors who may want to begin their summer business early.

The BBC reports that West Ham do not want any distractions in the final weeks despite there being a growing acceptance that the England international will want to pursue a new challenge, having previously knocked back the offer of a new deal.

David Moyes said recently: "We hope Dec stays. We would love him to be a West Ham player but we are aware that might not be the case. That is one of the scenarios. Our plans are to have Dec here but we are also fully aware there is a good chance that we won't have him."

Rice, who has made 241 appearances for the Hammers, has made no secret of his desire to play in the Champions League. Several doors are likely to open for him as Arsenal, Liverpool and the Red Devils all eye new midfielders with Rice high on their shortlists.

The Gunners, whose title hopes have slipped away recently, have seen their midfield drop off with Thomas Partey's form falling away at the worst time. Arsenal will return to the Champions League, making them a more attractive proposition, and appear a young team on the rise, but need to add more depth to what is a thin squad.

Liverpool's need for a new midfield is perhaps the most pressing and they've recently pulled out of the race for Jude Bellingham, which could see them pursue his international colleague.

United meanwhile added Casemiro in the summer but are still in the process of building under Erik ten Hag, who will be seeking more additions. They've previously been linked with Rice, who could cost up to £100m. West Ham have previously spoken about demanding top dollar for their player with a summer bidding war potentially on the cards.
