Man Utd, Liverpool and Arsenal 'monitor' World Cup winner as agent prepares for talks

Alexis Mac Allister is of interest to Manchester United, Liverpool and Arsenal with the player's representatives preparing for talks over his future.

The Brighton star added a World Cup win to his CV in December as he helped Argentina triumph, which has seen his stock rise further. The Seagulls have excelled this term as they threaten the top four with Mac Allister playing a key role in their impressive season.

As a result, the midfielder is on the radars of several top sides, who could be ready to test Brighton's resolve. In recent years the south coast outfit, who've received plaudits for their recruitment, have parted with the likes of Ben White, Marc Cucurella and Leandro Trossard.

Moises Caicedo was heavily linked with the exit door, and made his desire to leave known on social media, but Brighton held firm and refused to offload the midfielder, who has since signed a new deal. The Amex hierarchy could face a similar problem with Mac Allister, who is poised to be the subject of offers, according to TYC Sports.

The player's father said last month that whilst the Argentine is very content at Brighton, there could be an opportunity to move on. He said: "It seems to me a very good thing that he has returned from the World Cup and has not despaired about leaving, enjoying success calmly and in peace, in a team that loves him very much.

"The reception he received has been the best. He is very well in the club. We all know that in July there will be possibilities to be able to leave. But prior to the World Cup, Alexis renewed his contract so that the club also has the opportunity of an important transfer, so that a lot can reach Brighton. It's the idea"

United, Liverpool and Arsenal are all expected to bolster their ranks in the middle of the pitch this summer. Liverpool's failure to add quality in that area was cited as an error last year and it has proved a problematic position for much of the season with several of their regulars ageing and struggling to produce the intensity they once did.

The Red Devils meanwhile have thrived with Casemiro in the team, but the drop-off when the Brazilian is absent has been a major concern and greater depth will aid them going forward. Arsenal meanwhile have worked with a settled team for much of the season, but as they prepare to return to the Champions League more quality will be needed.

Earlier this season Brighton released their financial figures and operated on a profit for the first time since they became a top-flight outfit, which lessens their need to sell their top players come the summer.
