Liverpool will begin their Carabao Cup defence against Derby County after being drawn against them in the third round.
The Reds claimed success in the cup competition last term - which was Jurgen Klopp's first domestic cup victory in England - after seeing off Chelsea in a dramatic penalty shootout at Wembley with Kepa Arrizabalaga skying the 22nd spot kick.
Thomas Tuchel's side take on Manchester City in the heavyweight clash of the round - both teams will both be eyeing silverware this term but one will have their hopes dashed early. Erik ten Hag's Manchester United will welcome Steven Gerrard and Aston Villa.
Arsenal and Tottenham have both enjoyed good starts to the season and the Gunners face a tricky home game against an impressive Brighton and Hove Albion side. Antonio Conte meanwhile will prepare his team for a game with Nottingham Forest.
Fulham are the biggest casualty of the opening two round following their 2-0 loss at League Two Crawley Town on Tuesday night, with the minnows now facing Burbley. Leicester City meanwhile needed penalties to see off Stockport County, who were a non-league outfit this time last year.
Leeds United have been drawn against Wolves whilst Newcastle United, who have started the season impressively, will take on Crystal Palace. MK Dons have a home game against Morecambe meaning one League One outfit, at least, will be in the fourth round of the competition.
Bournemouth vs Everton is among another all-Premier League tie. The third round match will take place week commencing November 7.
