Roy Keane wasn't in the mood for meet and greets as he took his seat for NFL London this afternoon.
The former Manchester United man took a break from his work as a pundit on Sky Sports to be amongst the 62,000 strong crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, as the Green Bay Packers took on the New York Giants. But it wasn't long before he was recognised by a fellow spectator.
The Irish hard man was sat comfortably in his seat when he was asked by a selfie, and responded by angrily gesturing to the fan that he was there to watch the game. To compound matters, the man then inadvertently blocked his view as he sought to get out the way.
A clearly agitated Keane then muttered to himself as he folded his arms and crossed his legs, clearly perturbed at being approached. However, unlike the ex-midfielder himself, those in the Sky Sports commentary box saw the funny side,
Laura Woods said: "You've got Roy Keane, Manchester United legend, what would you think to do? Ask for a selfie? What would the answer be? it would be a hard no." A pundit was heard laughing in the background as he said: "He don't want any part of that."
The footage was shared on Twitter by the SportsJOE account, long with the caption: "Meanwhile, always be sure to pick your moments to ask Roy Keane for an autograph or selfie." And within two hours, the footage had racked up more than 2000 likes and a 100 retweets.
"Classic Keane," wrote @mjenglish1985, while that @ThatGingerFella supported the response, writing: "Dead right, everyone wants pictures just for some attention of insta or to gloat to their friends."
When he was able to sit in peace, Keane witnessed the Packers lose their first-ever NFL London game as they couldn't hold off the Giants. The New York outfit ran out 27-22 winners, as Saquon Barkley starred with 106 total yards and a touchdown.
Despite the defeat for his team, MVP Aaron Rodgers paid tribute to the London supporters afterwards, saying: "The crowd was incredible. Our fans were loud all the time, it was outstanding. Hopefully the team gets the chance to come back and play here again. I'm going to remember it for a long time."
