Manchester United face a tough task of retaining their place in the top four of the Premier League this weekend when they face rivals Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.
The Red Devils have drawn three of their last five games, including a disappointing 0-0 draw at home to Watford last weekend, to enable those below to gain some ground on them.
And a defeat here, coupled with positive results for both West Ham United and Arsenal, would see them slip out of the top four.
But an early positive for Ralf Rangnick ahead of his first Manchester derby is that he has just two injury concerns to contend with for the tie, as his squad came away from the Watford draw unscathed.
Here is all you need to know about the current state of play at Old Trafford and the expected return dates for those who have been out on the sidelines.
Can Man Utd avoid defeat at Man City on Sunday? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
Edinson Cavani
Veteran forward Edinson Cavani has missed out on United’s last five games since picking up an injury following the 1-1 draw with Burnley on February 8, a game which he started in.
The Uruguayan is currently suffering with a groin injury and there were fears that it could be a long-term problem, with no current expected return date, as the club awaited further updates.
Cavani has also missed out on training sessions over the past week because of the injury but Rangnick has confirmed that he is likely to be part of the squad for the Manchester derby on Sunday.
Speaking on Friday, Rangnick said: “It looks good. He has been in training. He could be part of the group on Sunday. We will have to see what happens tomorrow or Sunday. But, as things stand, he should be part of the group.”
Scott McTominay
Midfielder Scott McTominay has been struggling with illness as of late and has missed United’s last two games as a result.
The Scottish international last featured in the 4-2 victory over Leeds United at Elland Road on February 20, before he was then not fit enough to return to training ahead of the Watford game.
However, it looks as though McTominay is on course to make a return to the squad for this weekend’s short trip across Manchester and could even regain his place in the starting lineup.
Prior to the Watford game on February 25, Rangnick said: "He is still ill, he hasn't been training with us, so hopefully he will start training with us again next week."
