Manchester United have reportedly joined Tottenham in the race to sign Christian Eriksen on a free transfer from Brentford.
The 30-year-old has shone since moving to West London in January. He was available after leaving Inter Milan, with Serie A rules preventing players from wearing an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD), which can reset the heart following a cardiac arrest.
Eriksen has been back to his best with Brentford, alerting a number of clubs with his contract only running until the end of the 2021/22 season. According to the Mirror, the Bees have offered to make the midfielder the club's highest-paid player in a bid to keep him.

But other clubs have taken notice. Manchester United are said to be interested in a move, with new boss Erik ten Hag "hugely impressed" by Eriksen's desire to come back to football following his cardiac arrest at Euro 2020, coupled with his performances for Brentford since returning.
Tottenham are also interested in a move to bring Eriksen back to North London. football.london understands that the club have discussed a return for Eriksen, with his history both at the club and with Conte and the bargain nature of a deal ticking a lot of boxes.
Eriksen previously spent seven years with Spurs, and the club's position in the Champions League next season could be a huge temptation over United, who will be playing in the Europa League. However, Eriksen admitted that while he would love to play in the competition again, it won't be the deciding factor.
"I have different offers and options, which we are considering, and then we make a decision," Eriksen recently stated. "I would love to play Champions League football again, I know how much fun it is, but it isn’t essential for me."
Antonio Conte is targeting a number of transfers this summer following qualification for Europe's premier competition, with a deal for Eriksen's former Inter teammate Ivan Perisic already completed. Fraser Forster is also expected to join on a free transfer in the coming days, while the likes of Alessandro Bastoni and Allan Saint-Maximin have been identified as targets this summer.
