Manchester United have been hit with a Football Association charge after their players mobbed referee Peter Bankes at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
The FA allege that United “failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion” after Bankes had initially shown only a yellow card to Brighton’s Lewis Dunk for a foul on Anthony Elanga.
United stars reacted furiously, surrounding Bankes - refereeing only his eighth Premier League game of the season - and delaying the free-kick.
