Man Utd convinced they know Harry Kane transfer price amid Daniel Levy worry

Manchester United believe that they could prise Harry Kane away from Tottenham this summer for around £100million - but have major reservations over Daniel Levy's appetite to thrash out a deal.

Kane, 29, is about to head into the final year of his contract and has previously expressed a desire to win major honours. The England captain is Erik ten Hag's top summer target ahead of the upcoming transfer window and it's believed a move to Old Trafford would appeal to the Spurs talisman.

However, Levy is a notoriously tough negotiator. And it remains to be seen if Tottenham, who are currently searching for a new head coach, would rather lose their star man for nothing next year instead of cashing in now.

According to The Mail, United are aware that persuading Levy to part with Kane will be no mean feat, but the Red Devils are also confident that a sum of around £100m would be enough to clinch a deal for the striker's services - if their Premier League rivals are willing to play ball.

After qualifying for the Champions League and winning a trophy during his first year at the helm, Ten Hag is eager to push on next year and knows his squad is lacking a genuine No.9.

While the Dutchman is keen on Kane, United are realistic and also have their eye on other targets incase a deal cannot be achieving, including Napoli hotshot Victor Osimhen.

Ahead of Sunday's Premier League finale against Fulham, Ten Hag is still in the dark over how much he has to spend in the window due to the ongoing uncertainty surrounding the club.

Despite announcing back in November that they were seeking "strategic alternatives", the Glazer family have still not confirmed their intentions following an exhaustive takeover process. Two prospective owners, Sir Jim Ratcliffe and Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani, are waiting to hear whether they have been successful in their bid to take charge at Old Trafford following three rounds of bidding.

The delay in the takeover saga is already having a knock-on effect on Ten Hag, who is eager to do business as soon as possible.

The club backed Ten Hag with significant funds last summer after luring him to the club from Ajax, completing deals for Antony, Lisandro Martinez, Casemiro and Tyrell Malacia. In total, United spent in excess of £230million to bolster their squad last year in a bid to return to the Champions League.

Manchester United's summer transfer budget is likely to be boosted the windfall the club have banked from returning to Europe's elite knockout competition, which is estimated to be worth around £100m alone.
