Man Utd consider letting Cristiano Ronaldo leave for free in emergency exit plan

Manchester United could be ready to let Cristiano Ronaldo leave the club for nothing, according to fresh reports.

The Portugal international has struggled for minutes since Erik ten Hag's arrival as manager, and was seen storming down the tunnel before the end of Wednesday night's victory over Tottenham at Old Trafford. It has been reported that the Portuguese international refused to come on as a substitute, and the club have confirmed he will not be part of the squad for this weekend's match against Chelsea.

Ronaldo had looked to leave Old Trafford over the summer after United failed to qualify for the Champions League, but no deal could be agreed. Now, though, there are suggestions the club will take desperate measures to get last season's top scorer off the books.
