Sheffield United have completed a deal for Zach Giggs, the son of Welsh footballing legend Ryan.
The 16-year-old has spent the last few weeks on trial with the Blades after being released by the Red Devils, and has impressed staff at the newly-promoted Premier League club.
The teenager mainly plays as a left-back, but was also deployed on the right and in the centre of defence during his time in the youth ranks at Old Trafford.
Giggs junior is eligible for both Wales and England, but has so far come through Welsh system at youth level. He was also part of the Man United side that featured in the Adidas Generation Cup.
Manager Paul Heckingbottom previously revealed he would be leaving the call on Giggs' future to Academy manager Derek Geary, adding he would back any potential decision.
"The academy has got to be brilliant at producing players," he told Yorkshire Live. "For the health of the club you have got to have people at every stage who are experts in what they do and what their job entails.
"Certainly academy manager, under 21 and under 18 coaches yeah you have got to produce players but decision making on those players is key as well."
