Manchester United vs Rayo Vallecano – LIVE!
Cristiano Ronaldo played 45 minutes on his Manchester United return as they drew their final pre-season friendly.
Ronaldo wants to leave United this summer but was back in the team at Old Trafford after missing their pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia. Despite his desire to move, the 37-year-old was given an excellent reception on his first appearance for United since their 4-0 defeat at Brighton on May 7.
He had one sight of goal but his effort was understandably rusty as he fired high and wide with his left foot from inside the area. Erik Ten Hag will now assess Ronaldo next week before deciding whether he will feature for United in their first Premier League game of the season against Brighton next weekend.
Ronaldo has been at Carrington this week to discuss his future with Ten Hag, who was taking charge of his first game as United manager at Old Trafford. United’s stance is that Ronaldo is not for sale.
