Man United send another goalkeeper on loan after Andre Onana’s return to Turkey

  • Manchester United have agreed to loan goalkeeper Altay Bayindir to Spanish club Celta Vigo for the upcoming season.
  • Celta Vigo will cover Bayindir's wages during the loan spell and have an option to purchase the Turkey international for an estimated £3.5 million, with additional performance bonuses and a high sell-on clause for United.
  • Bayindir, who joined United for £4.3 million from Fenerbahce in 2023, made 17 appearances for the club but lost his starting position last season to Senne Lammens after a series of mistakes.
  • This move is part of a broader squad overhaul by Manchester United, particularly within their goalkeeping ranks, which has also seen the signing of Karl Darlow, the loan of Andre Onana back to Turkish side Trabzonspor, and the impending sale of Radek Vitek.
  • United have also strengthened their outfield squad, bringing in Andrey Santos from Chelsea and Youri Tielemans after activating his release clause from Aston Villa, as they prepare for their return to the Champions League.
