Chelsea are gearing up for the upcoming January transfer window and while attention is focused on bringing players in, there could also be some exits on the cards. With the some of the squad fringe players still at the club after failing to make a summer switch, their chance could arise in the winter.
One of those struggling for game time at Stamford Bridge is Hakim Ziyech, who has failed to stamp a place in the starting lineup since joining from Ajax. The playmaker has shown glimpses of his ability though and it has been on full display in his World Cup performances for Morocco.
Ziyech earned the Player of the Match award for his display against Belgium, where his nation earned a huge 2-0 win to keep them within a shout of the knockout rounds. Despite that, he was asked by NOS about a possible transfer in January, to which he replied: "It’s hard to say, difficult to say. We don’t know what will happen in the winter. It’s football, so it’s difficult to say."

The 29-year-old hardly shut down the possibility of leaving Chelsea after missing out in the summer following interest from the likes of AC Milan. According to a report from Calciomercato, the Rossoneri are back in contention to land Ziyech, however they would require a wage reduction.
The report adds that due to that reason, Manchester United are back in the frame to sign the midfielder, who had previously played under boss Erik ten Hag at Ajax. The Red Devils are said to have enquired in the past few days, anticipating little competition and leading the way to sign him.
It remains to be sign if the Blues would sell a player to a direct rival like Manchester United, though it could recoup some funds for his signing.
