Man United close in on '£51.5m signing' as Harry Kane confusion continues for Liverpool rivals

The transfer window is heating up as Liverpool's Premier League rivals move to secure signings for the upcoming season.

Kylian Mbappe's future at Paris Saint-Germain is once again up in the air, reportedly placing Real Madrid on red alert. The superstar forward reportedly wants to leave the French champions this summer.

Harry Kane is also entering the final year of his current Tottenham deal and has been the subject of interest from many of Europe's elite clubs in the early weeks of the summer transfer window.

And below, we have taken a look at the latest news relating to Liverpool’s main competitors ahead of the new campaign...

Andre Onana

Manchester United are optimistic about the prospect of signing Inter Milan goalkeeper Andre Onana to replace David de Gea.

That is according to the Manchester Evening News, who are reporting that Onana is United's principal goalkeeping target, and De Gea confirmed he has left the club for good on Saturday.

The report goes on to claim that United sources insist no contract was ever formally offered to De Gea, despite months of discussions. It is also claimed that a deal for Onana is not imminent and that a compromise is required on Inter's asking price for the former Ajax ' keeper, but positive discussions have been held.

Reports elsewhere suggest Onana's fee could be around the £51.5million mark, with indications he is set to sign a five-year contract with United.

Harry Kane

Bayern Munich are reportedly due to make an improved near £70m bid for Harry Kane, according to the Mail on Sunday.

The report goes on to claim that Bayern boss Thomas Tuchel has made Kane the club’s No. 1 target, with a centre forward being an absolute must, with the club struggling to fill the gap left by Robert Lewandowski’s departure to Barcelona last summer.

However, the report also claims that even the new offer seems unlikely to meet Tottenham’s expectations, leaving the striker in limbo as he returns to training before Spurs set off on their pre-season tour to Australia, Thailand and Singapore on Friday.

Wilfried Zaha

Wilfried Zaha is expected to make a decision about his future when he returns from his honeymoon next week.

The Guardian reports that Crystal Palace remain hopeful that the Ivory Coast forward will sign a lucrative four-year contract worth £10m a season and reject offers to move overseas.

The report also claims that Napoli, Paris Saint-Germain and Galatasaray are the latest clubs to have held talks with his representatives in recent days, while Zaha has already received contract offers from Lazio, Fenerbahce and Al-Nassr.

According to the report, the 30-year-old is likely to reject the offer from the Saudi Pro-League club that is worth a staggering £30m per season, but a move to Italy or Turkey remains a possibility despite both existing offers being significantly lower than the salary on offer at Selhurst Park.
