A man said that he was ' turned away from a nightclub' because of his tattoos - as he has intricate designs all over his face. Matthew Whelen is 'Britain's most tattooed man' and said he now gets judged due to his appearance, even though he's invested thousands of pounds into his look.
The 42-year-old estimates he has spent over 1,500 hours in the chair and has covered 90 per cent of his body in art, and he's next set for blackout work to be done on his left arm in January 2023, as the Daily Star reports. But the bloke, who has changed his legal name to King Of Ink, says his look can be a burden - and now he's opened up about his experiences.
What do you think to Matthew's tattoos? Let us know in the comments...
In an interview on LBC, Matthw said he's been turned away from nightclubs and restaurants on his holidays due to his alternative appearance.
He compared his situation to that of extremely tattooed mum, Melissa Sloan – who was recently banned from her child's nativity show because of her appearance.
He said: "I had similar issues to what Melissa had, not in the school plays, but where I have gone to venues.
"I'm going back two and a half years when I went to Sydney, Australia.
"They've got a policy to ban gangs and people with face tattoos, from a lot of bars, clubs and restaurants.
"I was actually staying in a very nice area of Sydney, in CBD, which is the central business district.
"I tried to get into a nice restaurant and bar and then the nightclub on the night and security guards had seen me on a documentary on TV.
"But they were doing their job, they couldn't allow me into the venue because of their policy."
However, the extremely tattooed man managed to get into the club the next day.
He claims he simply sent an email to the concierge to explain who he was and that his ink isn't gang-related.
The news comes after a mum addicted to tattoos claimed that she was 'forced' to watch her child's nativity play from the window outside.
Melissa Sloan, 45, who lives in Wales, is often at the receiving end of cruel jibes from trolls - both offline and online - due to her alternative appearance.
The parent-of-two previously revealed that her Xmas Day plans of going to the pub have been foiled because she has allegedly been barred for her extreme inkings.
But the festive season doesn't stop getting difficult for Melissa - she claims she was made to watch her children's Christmas performance through the school window.
