Man trapped on shopping centre roof after getting locked inside at end of his shift

Centre YMCA

A man who got locked in a shopping centre after his shift said he 'panicked' when the roof door locked behind him.

Gary Rolfe, 34, from Liscard, was finishing his shift at the YMCA shop in Cherry Tree Shopping Centre in Liscard, Wirral, on Sunday, June 19, when he ran into a problem with the till. After sorting out the issue, the assistant manager locked up the store and started walking toward the exit.

As he was walking multiple alarms started "blaring" throughout the shopping centre and Gary noticed he was locked in.
