Man 'trapped' in child's swing in park rescued by firefighters

THE Scottish Fire and Rescue Service attended a Dunfermline park at the weekend to rescue a person "trapped by playground equipment".

This unusual incident happened in Rex Park on Saturday, around 9.15pm.

It is understood that a man got stuck in a child's swing and it took around half an hour to free him.

One fire crew was sent to the scene.

A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 9.15pm on Saturday, May 30, to reports of a person trapped by playground equipment near Woodmill Road, Dunfermline.

“Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance to the scene.

“There were no reported casualties and crews left at 9.44pm, after ensuring the area was safe.”
