A man has died after getting into difficulty in water at a Scots loch this afternoon.
Emergency services raced to Loch Doon in Dalmellington, East Ayrshire after the alarm was raised at around 1.15pm on Sunday, March 27.
Officers received reports of two men in difficulty in the water.
Ambulance crews attended, but one man tragically died at the scene.
The other man was checked over by paramedics but did not require further medical treatment.
Police say a report will be sent to the procurator fiscal, but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Officers received reports of two men in difficulty in the water at Loch Doon, Dalmellington, around 1.15pm on Sunday, March 27.
"One man died at the scene. The other man was checked over by paramedics but did not require further medical treatment.
"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal but there do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances."
