A violent partner threatened to cut his girlfriend's face with a pizza cutter and to burn her with the flame from a deodorant can. Those were just some of the terrifying threats made by Anthony Pendleton as he exerted a campaign of controlling and coercive behaviour on his now ex-partner.
Nottingham Crown Court heard Pendleton inflicted violent attacks on her and called her names. The pizza cutter incident was sparked when Pendleton was annoyed she had gambled on an online app.
After shouting at her and accusing her of lying to him, he threw ant powder at her, threw the pizza cutter and said, "I'm going to cut your face" - so no one could look at her. He kicked her ribs and legs - only stopping when she was sick.
