A man has been taken to hospital following a one vehicle collision in Durham.
Police, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the A167 on Tuesday afternoon. The crash occurred just before 3.30pm between the Cock of the North roundabout and The Honest Lawyer Hotel.
One man, who was travelling alone, was taken by ambulance to the University Hospital of North Durham in Durham for treatment.
The area of the A167 was closed in both directions while the emergency services dealt with the incident. Durham Constabulary urged drivers to find an alternative route. The road has since been reopened.
The North East Ambulance Service (NEAS) said they were called to a one vehicle road traffic collision just before 3.30pm.
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call to 999 at 15:28 to a road traffic incident involving one vehicle on White House Burn Hall on A167 in Durham. We sent one emergency ambulance crew and a clinical team leader and took one patient to University Hospital of North Durham for further treatment."
County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service sent two fire appliances and a special rescue unit to the scene after being called by the police at 3.33pm. A spokesperson said: "We were called to stabilise the vehicle and assist the gentleman out of the vehicle."
