A man has been taken to hospital after he crashed while riding a motorbike near a roundabout in Northumberland.
Emergency crews were called to the scene on the A68 at Riding Mill in Northumberland following reports of a one-vehicle crash. Officers from Northumbria Police found that the crash had involved a motorcyclist.
A man, who was the rider of a motorbike, was found in need of medical assistance after sustaining arm and shoulder injuries. His injuries are thankfully not believed to be serious or life-threatening.
The motorcyclist was subsequently taken to hospital for further treatment on his injuries.
The 42-year-old man had been travelling towards a roundabout that joins with the A695 when the vehicle crashed.
The reasons for the crash have yet to be established. Nobody else was injured in the incident.
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 11.50am yesterday (Sunday), we received a report of a one-vehicle collision on the A68 at Riding Mill.
“It was reported that a motorbike had been travelling towards a roundabout that joins with the A695 when – for reasons to be established – it has landed on its side.
“Emergency services attended the scene where the rider – a 42-year-old man – was taken to hospital with arm and shoulder injuries.”
