Broadway Market at the junction of Duncan Road
(Picture: Google Maps)A man has been rushed to hospital after a fire broke out in a flat close to Broadway Market.
Four fire engines and around 25 firefighters were called to the blaze in Duncan Road, Hackney at 8.50am on Wednesday.
An occupant had managed to escape the fire on the second floor before firefighters arrived.
The man was taken to hospital by paramedics.
Crews found around half of the four-roomed flat damaged by the blaze and spent more than half an hour bringing it under control.
London Fire Brigade said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
