Man Suspected In NYC Hotel Murder Arrested In Arizona

26-year-old male suspect arrested in Arizona for murder in NYC hotel room.

A man suspected in the death of a woman who was fatally bludgeoned in a New York City hotel room earlier this month has been arrested in Arizona. The suspect, identified as a 26-year-old male, is also a suspect in two recent stabbings in the state.

New York City police officials announced at a news conference that they are seeking to extradite and arrest the suspect in connection with the killing of a 38-year-old woman, Denisse Oleas-Arancibia. The victim was found by hotel staff on the floor of a lower Manhattan hotel room on February 8, with her death attributed to blunt force trauma to the head.

The suspect, who has not yet been formally charged, was apprehended in Arizona on Sunday. He faces allegations of attempted murder, aggravated assault, and theft of means of transportation. Authorities in New York are working on the extradition process.

Prior to his arrest, the suspect was involved in two violent incidents in Arizona. In one case, he allegedly attacked an employee in a McDonald's restroom, using a BB gun and a knife to harm the victim. In another incident, he is suspected of stabbing a woman during a robbery attempt while armed with a knife and gun.

Law enforcement officials are collaborating with the FBI to investigate any potential additional incidents involving the suspect in other states, including Florida and Texas, where he has previously resided and faced legal issues.

Authorities are urging anyone with information related to the suspect's activities to come forward, as there is concern that there may be other victims across the country.
