A Lawrence Weston man admitted attacking his ex-partner and her property. And he also admitted an attack on her male friend.
Nathan Jones struggled to appreciate his relationship was over, Bristol Crown Court heard. Not only did he damage's his ex's home, he assaulted both her and a friend she was visiting.
Jones, 30, of Mancroft Avenue, pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm, battery and two charges of criminal damage. He asked for a criminal damage charge to be considered.

Judge James Patrick jailed him for two years. He handed Jones a five year restraining order, from his release, to have no contact with named parties.
Emily Heggadon, prosecuting, said in September last year Jones turned up at his ex-partner's home near Bristol. After holding a knife to his own throat he pushed the blade into her front door.
Miss Heggadon said in December last year Jones turned up when his ex-partner was visiting a platonic friend at his home near Bristol. The court heard Jones was asked to leave but smashed a window - immediately handing over £100 for the damage.
Jones went on to punch his ex-partner in the back and slash a tyre on her car. He also pleaded guilty to throwing a car component and hitting her male friend in the head, causing a gash on his forehead which needed stitches.
Nicholas Lee, defending, said: "He wishes to express, through me, an apology to both complainants. If he had an opportunity to speak to them he would. He hopes they will be able to move on with their lives."
Mr Lee said Jones, a father-of-two, had gained a qualification whilst remanded at HMP Bristol. He has the continuing support of his family as well as the offer of work, the court was told.
