Police have named a man stabbed to death in Hillingdon on Wednesday evening as a murder probe was launched.
Officers named the victim of the fatal stabbing as Khurram Butt, 57.
He was found with stab wounds at the junction of Cowley Road and The Greenway in Uxbridge shortly after 7pm on Wednesday.
Police, paramedics and the London Ambulance Service attended the scene but despite their best efforts Mr Butt’s life could not be saved.
His next of kin have been informed, said police, and are being supported by specialist officers.
A 49-year-old man later attended a west London police station where he was arrested on suspicion of murder.
He remains in custody.
Police appealed for witnesses as they are especially keen to hear from anyone who may have dashcam footage of the busy road.
Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin said: “We are appealing for any witnesses who were in the area of Cowley Road, near to the junction with Frayslea just after 7pm on 6 July, who may have seen anything that may help with our investigation.
“It is a busy road and a number of people would have been on foot in the area or in vehicles. We are particularly keen to hear from anyone who may have a dashcam footage."
