Man stabbed outside Liverpool ONE dessert shop as six teens arrested


A man was stabbed in the back in a Liverpool city centre attack.

Police were called to The Strand, outside Heavenly Desserts in Liverpool ONE, at around 10.50pm on Thursday to reports of a disturbance. At the scene they found a man had been stabbed.

The victim was taken to hospital for treatment to a puncture wound to his back and was later discharged. Officers arrested six teenagers in connection to the attack.

Two 18-year-old men and four 17-year-old boys, from Liverpool, were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including affray, Section 18 wounding and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. They are still in police custody.

A cordon has been put up in Liverpool ONE, near to the dessert restaurant, while investigations continue. Anyone with information, is asked to contact police on Twitter @MerPolCC or Facebook ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Six men were arrested last night, Thursday 27 October, following a disturbance in Liverpool city centre. At around 10.50pm we received a report of a disturbance on The Strand and one man had been assaulted.

"He was taken to hospital for treatment to a puncture wound to the back and later discharged. Two 18-year-old men and four 17-year-old males from Liverpool were arrested on suspicion of a number of offences including affray, Section 18 wounding and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. They are still in police custody."
