A man has been stabbed in a targeted violent attack at a house in Irvine.
Emergency services were called to the scene on Clark Drive at around 2am on Saturday, April 9.
The man, who has not yet been identified, was taken to Crosshouse Hospital in a serious condition.
Officers have taped off streets between Thornhouse Avenue and Allan Square as the investigation continues.
It's understood that residents on the street are being escorted to and from their homes by police officers.
Locals have also reported a forensics team at the property.
Police said there will be an increased presence in the area.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “We received a report a man had been found seriously injured at a property on Clark Drive, Irvine, around 2am on Saturday, 9 April.
“The man was taken to University Hospital Crosshouse in a serious condition.
“This was a targeted incident and enquiries are ongoing.
“There will be an increased police presence in the area.”
