A man sprayed a “burning” substance in the face of a shop worker in an assault at a Holland and Barrett store in Victoria station.
Police on Wednesday released an image of a man they are keen to trace following the incident.
A man entered the health food shop in Victoria Place shopping centre around 2.20pm on August 16.
As he left the shop an employee challenged him, and a bag of items that are thought to have been stolen “was retrieved” by staff, police said.
The man then sprayed a substance in the staff member’s face, which “caused a burning sensation to their skin, eyes and throat”.
He then left the area.
A British Transport Police spokesperson said on Wednesday: “Officers believe the man in the image may have information that could help with their investigation.
“Officers are also keen for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.”
