A mother has been killed and her daughter injured during a violent altercation in a Perth home.
The body of the woman, aged 60, was found in the Beckenham home by police officers after they were called to an altercation on Saturday night.
Her daughter, aged 30, was also injured, police said.
After a widescale search, a 25-year-old man was arrested late on Sunday morning.
He was seen leaving the home about 10 minutes after the altercation, in which police believe an edged weapon was used.
"We know an altercation has occurred but the actual intricacies we have no idea at this point in time," Detective Senior Sergeant Keith Neubronner told reporters.
"We believe he can help us, he was the last person seen to depart the house."
The man was found in a nearby suburb.
