A man with a concealed carry license shot and wounded a man trying to rob him at gunpoint on a CTA Green Line train Friday afternoon near the Cicero station, according to officials.
About 4:45 p.m., the suspected robber, 33, approached a 25-year-old man on the train, Chicago police said.
The younger man, pulled out a firearm of his own and a shootout ensued, police said. That man had a valid CCL/FOID license.
The suspected robber was shot in the leg and was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was reportedly in fair condition, police said. The younger man was not struck by gunfire.
Charges against the older man are pending, police said.
