A man is undergoing surgery for serious injuries after he was attacked by a crocodile in a remote part of the Northern Territory.
NT Police say the man was bitten on a remote station near Daly River, a town about 220 kilometres south of Darwin, while collecting crocodile eggs early on Thursday.
His right leg was wounded in the attack.
In a statement, police said the man was transported to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance, after being flown out of the remote location by private helicopter.
"The man is currently undergoing surgery for his injuries, which are considered serious but not life-threatening," the statement said.
Police said NT WorkSafe had been informed of the attack and would be making inquiries.
