A man was taken to hospital with serious injuries after police were called to a residential street in Nottingham. Officers were called to Redcliffe Road, Mapperley Park, at around 9am on Sunday, April 2, following concerns for a man’s safety.
The road was closed while officers came to the man's aid, before he was taken to hospital with serious injuries. The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
A police cordon remained in place on the road between Elm Bank and Elm Bank Drive until around 2pm. Pedestrians and vehicles were unable to access the area during the period.
Inspector Rich Markham, of Nottinghamshire Police, said: “Police were called to Redcliffe Road, Mapperley Park, Nottingham, at around 9am today (2 April), following concerns for a man’s safety. The road was closed for a short time while officers came to the man’s aid but has now reopened.
“The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries but the incident is not currently being treated as suspicious. I would like to reassure the public that there is no wider threat to the community.”
