Man's spooky encounter with 'tormented ghosts trapped in Leeds' Kirkstall Abbey' - as they tell him to 'get out'

A Yorkshire Ghost Hunter has shared video and audio footage that he says proves that there are ghosts trapped in the Chapel of a popular ruined Cistercian monastery in Leeds, including a small clip where a voice is heard telling him to "get out".

Andy Pollard, popularly known as Yorkshire Ghost Guy, travelled on a whim to Kirkstall Abbey armed with his tech tools that he says can capture paranormal stuff like ghosts and spirits. Mr Pollard says he arrived in the afternoon when it was well lit, armed with a Safe Range EMF meter.

A Safe Range EMF meter, usually referred to as a K2 meter, is a handheld electronic device that detects electromagnetic fields, or EMF, measuring them with a bright LED array that moves from green to red depending on their strength. It became popular among ghost hunters after it was used on the show Ghost Hunters by Grant Wilson.

At Kirkstall Abbey, Any Pollard says he detected the strongest ever recordings he has ever seen. He said: "I arrived mid afternoon so it was still light. It was my first visit to the Abbey and I wasn’t disappointed.

"After a brief walk around the grounds I began my investigation in the Chapel House. It was here that I was lucky enough to capture some of the strongest K2 responses I have ever recorded.

"Straight away the responses started and they were really strong, this is odd because a lot of the time on investigation I capture very little or no activity on the K2."

Although the usefulness or accurracy of K2 meters has been questioned and slammed, Mr Pollard is convinced there are ghosts in the Abbey, as the readings were out of the ordinary. He said: "This was made all the more strange because to the best of my knowledge there is nothing in the chapel house that could affect my readings. No wires or power source."

"I came away with a few odd evp (audio clips) but not that many, I often find that on investigation it’s either one or the other, audio or visual. It would be good to investigate the abbey further at some stage because there’s definitely something or someone there."

One of those audio clips Andy Pollard captured includes a moment a voice is heard telling him to "get out" after he asks the ghost to come forward, and if the ghost is comfortable with him being in the Chapel.
