A man in his 40s was rushed to hospital following an assault in Dublin last night.
Gardai were called to the scene of the incident at 10:40pm on Sunday night in the Charles Street Great area of Mountjoy, Dublin 1. A man aged in his 40s was taken to Mater Misericordiae University Hospital with serious injuries.
Gardai have preserved the scene for a technical examination. No arrests have been made, and gardai say investigations are ongoing.

A garda spokesman told Dublin Live: "Gardaí are investigating an assault that occurred at approximately 10:40pm on Sunday 16th April 2023 in the Charles Street Great area of Mountjoy, Dublin 1. A man in his 40s was taken to the Mater Misericordiae University Hospital with serious injuries.
"The scene is currently preserved for technical examination. Investigations are ongoing.
