Man rushed to hospital after 'stabbing' as cops descend on Scots street

A man has been rushed to hospital after being 'stabbed' in a serious assault on Saturday afternoon.

Emergency services rushed to Huntingtower Road, Baillieston, shortly after 1pm today following reports of a man being assaulted.

The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. The extent of his injuries is not yet known.

Photographs from the scene show a large police presence in the area, with at least five emergency vehicles in attendance.

Two areas of the street have been taped off as police officers stand guard.

Police Scotland confirmed they were in attendance at the incident and said enquiries were ongoing.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said : “Around 1.05pm on Saturday, 25 February, 2023 we received a report of a man being seriously assaulted on a footpath near Huntingtower Road, Glasgow.

"The 44-year-old was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital and released following treatment.

"Enquiries are ongoing.”
