Man rushed to hospital after being thrown from bike in crash

A man was rushed to hospital after being thrown from his motorbike after a crash.

Merseyside Police rushed to Manor Road in Wallasey at 2.55pm on Monday, September 26, following reports of a crash. Once at the scene officers found a man on a Keeway bike and a Skoda Fabia had crashed.

Merseyside Police requested help from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service, who made the scene safe and also the North West Ambulance Service. The man riding the motorbike was treated for a leg injury at the scene before being rushed to hospital.

The driver of the Skoda stopped at the scene and is assisting police. Officers closed Manor Road in both directions while collision investigation worked on the road.

Traffic struggled during rush hour and was being diverted away from the scene.

A spokesperson from Merseyside Police said: "We are currently dealing with a road traffic collision on Manor Road in Wallasey. The collision, involving a Keeway bike and a Skoda Fabia, is believed to have happened at around 2.25pm.

"The male rider of the bike suffered a leg injury and an ambulance has attended. The driver of the car stopped at the scene.

"An investigation into the collision is underway and there are road closures in the local area. Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or @MerPolTraffic quoting log 547 or 26 th September."
