Man rushed to Glasgow hospital after 'stabbing' sparks huge police presence

A man has been rushed to hospital after being involved in a serious incident this afternoon, thought to be a 'stabbing'.

Emergency services raced to Huntingtower Road, Baillieston, just after 1pm today following reports of a man being assaulted.

The man was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital, where his current condition is unknown, reports the Daily Record.

Images from the scene show a large police presence in the area, with at least five emergency vehicles in attendance. Two areas of the street have been taped off as police officers stand guard.

Police Scotland confirmed they were in attendance at the incident and said enquiries were ongoing.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 1.05pm on Saturday, 25 February, 2023 we received a report that a man had been seriously assaulted.

"He has been taken to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment. Enquiries are ongoing.”
