A pensioner has resorted to shooting rats after the rodents keep him awake at night and bring him to tears.
Myfyr Owens, 76, from North Wales, claims he can even smell the rats in his flat which has made him "feel like crying".
The retired school caretaker is so fed up of the rats he has resorted to shooting them with an air rifle after complaining to his social landlord about the problem.
According to Myfyr, who has lived in his flat in Station Road for around 15 years, he said he found rats in his bathroom twice around 18 months ago, and more recently spotted them in his yard.
He has suffered problems with rats for most of the time he has lived there, but the problem has got so bad, he can hear them scurrying around in the walls - keeping him awake at night.
Around 18 months ago, he found a rodent sitting on his towel in his bathroom and another one sitting on the cistern after they came in through a hole in the wall.
His housing association, Grwp Cynefin, blocked up the hole - but the rats are still around.
He spotted one recently in his yard and shot it with an air rifle, while he also managed to trap another in a cage after tempting it out with a piece of liver.
The pensioner said the situation has made him want to move somewhere else.
Grwp Cynefin said it was aware of the issues and was dealing with the rodents.
Mr Owens told NorthWalesLive : "It's at night I can hear them when it's quiet. They're in the walls. It's like a golf driving range at night - clack - clack - clack. I can also smell the ammonia from their droppings. Sometimes I feel like crying."
He added: "I don't want to stop paying my rent but I want somewhere decent to live. I just want to move."
A Grwp Cynefin spokesman said it had a report about the rats at Mr Owens' home on November 25 last year and sent out a pest controller to deal with them.
It has not had any formal reports of rats from him since that time.
