Man rescues dog from rushing water in Los Angeles River

A dog rescued from a wildfire receives treatment for burns at a wildlife rehabilitation center of University of the Americas, as wildfires continue in Vina del Mar

In a remarkable display of bravery, a man in Los Angeles jumped into the fast-flowing Los Angeles River on Monday to save his beloved dog amid heavy rainfall. The incident occurred during record-breaking rainfall that has been engulfing parts of California recently.

According to the Los Angeles Fire Department, the incident took place at around 2:45 p.m. local time at the Pacoima Wash. Bystanders had alerted firefighters after witnessing the man leap into the rushing water in pursuit of his dog.
