Man refused to come down from shopping centre roof for 18 hours

A man carried out an 18 hour protest on the roof of a shopping centre only coming down this morning.

Police were initially called to reports of a concern for the safety of a man at the Concourse shopping centre, in Skelmersdale, at 1.30pm on Tuesday, June 13. At the scene, they found a man had climbed into the roof space and had put up banners.

A cordon was put in place around the shopping centre meaning a number of businesses were closed. Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service and the North West Ambulance Service are also at the scene on standby.
